Anyone appeal a DC traffic cam speeding ticket w/ a lawyer?

I was only going 10 and it seemed to be setup in a place where there is no limit and at the bottom of a hill to trap people.

There is always a speed limit even if it isn’t posted. What was the speed limit? 10 over is a lot. Pay your fine and slow down.

You have a right to face your accuser in court. Always always take traffic cam to court. Also if you don’t pay it, you do not lose your license.

Don’t live in district. Received several camera tickets in the mail. Never paid one. Still have my license, never went to collections.

They are not about safety only revenue generation. They disproportionately affect the poor and marginalized communities.

Don’t waste your time. This is different from a case against a cop. You are not winning a case against the traffic cam.
If your defense is that the speed camera is a trap, the judge will just laugh at you.

You don't have to if you live in VA or MD. You get to join in the whole scofflaw thing and just ignore their letters with no consequences. Ever wonder why everyone knows about the speed camera at MM 1 on 295 but only DC plates slow down there?

DC has a speed limit for when none is posted. It’s like 25 mph. Learn that in drivers Ed.

You're not telling us the whole truth. You weren't only going 10 over. DC cameras don't get triggered unless you're going at least 11 over.

I want you to go to court and tell the judge there was no speed limit in that spot and report back, please.

If you point out it was at the bottom on a hill the Judge will ask you if you are unable to control your speed on a hill. Cameras don’t even register until 12 over. There are no points. Just pay it and go on with life.
