DC/NOVA/MD is now chicago? What is up with the wind here any meteorologists lurking around? I've notice there have been tons of windy days, this week or two alone will have 5-6 days that had gale force winds. Why? I need more than "global warming." What exactly is happening with the winds here? |
OP, are you new here? Winter is usually windy in DC. It's just been a very mild winter so far, but the La Nina has ended.

Welcome to the DC area?
It's usually like this, we are pretty close to the coast. |
I feel like this now our typical March weather. Windy and generally colder than February. |
It is March |
I have lived in the DC area for decades. The last year to year and a half has significantly been windier. There are a lot more windier days then prior years.
"The D.C. area’s strongest wind gusts are increasing — it’s not your imagination" https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2022/03/14/dc-wind-gust-trends-climate/ |
Its always windy in feb and march. |
Fewer trees |
It's always been windy at this time, and climate change is making weather more intense it seems. |
We always have windy days in March, OP. |
And gray here in NY. Very few sunny days. |
I’m recalling the old saying ‘March comes in the a lion and out like a lamb’. But with an exclamation point due to climate change |
Ugh spelling! In like a lion… |
There’s a whole saying |
It's been much more windy and cloudy here in DC than usual. It's like pa or CT cloudy here and I'm. Not liking it at all. Very depressing and harder to talk outside everyday. |
