| and above. Especially with regards to issues such as homelessness, crime and public schools. |
| Disagree 100%. |
Examples? |
Examples of my opinion? Me. |
. Examples of local Republican who do a good job and Democratic state/ federal politicians who do a good job. Without at least a few examples this bros brush generalization is rendered rather meaningless … |
what? You provided nothing but your opinion as an example and you started the the thread!
|
Providing abortion access, environmental protection and such can’t really be done locally. On the other hand, cleaning up homelessness can. |
This isn't me. new PP, please don't answer for me. The OP wants examples to argue against so that she can prove her opinion is a fact and not an opinion. She provides no examples that and demands I provide examples. |
I’m the OP who you replied to (but I’d only posted that and the original post). |
|
Funny, I am nearly the opposite. I prefer local democratic leadership (school board withstanding) and Republican at federal level. I think things run smoother when federal government cedes to the states, except in national security, international relationships, and interstate commerce.
Of course, this is all centered on moderates from both parties and not the extremists on either end. |
Okay so you're the OP and provided no examples then tell me that I need to provide you examples. You created the thread. This is some kind of f'd up logic you've got going on here. |
I provided examples, you just ignored them. |
You literally didn't. What state/city examples are you talking about? |
"cleaning up homelessness" So how are local republicans better and building homeless shelters, providing food banks and getting the wraparound services in drug and alcohol addiction and mental health support? Or are you just saying the GOP is better at bulldozing homeless people away to other blue jurisdictions? Because that is more likely the reality. |
How exactly do you “clean up homelessness”? I mean, what do you do with the people you are presumably talking about? As someone who has worked in this space for decades, I can’t think of any Republican mayor who handled homelessness well. Can you? Having said that, the Dems haven’t been uniformly successful on the issue either. They’ve just been better. |
