I lost 5 lbs. But this weekend I’m not working so who knows I have all the time to come up with animal free dishes. I’m orthodox, do it started on Monday and only fish is allowed, no other animal product. Weird, I ate so many boiled potatoes and peas and lost weight. |
I gave up Lent. |
lol I just ate almost a whole bag of dove chocolates. Freaking PMS!!!! |
I gave up sweets for lent but so far no noticeable weight loss.. |
List 60 pounds over two years or so. One thing that helped was if I felt I had plateaued longer than I wanted or gained a little, I’d do something like just eat potatoes or eggs for 2-3 days. Or smoothies and salads. Or raw fruit and veggies. I ate how ever much I felt like as often as I wanted. It seemed to reset both my weight and loss ability, plus it would reset my taste buds so I wasn’t craving salty or sweets. I still do that occasionally if I feel I’m creeping up.
Two days of mono or close to mono eating isn’t going affect your health. |
OP here. Thanks to those who replied. I am just surprised how easy it was. But I did not eat bread, had none at home. Otherwise, it was a carb heavy Lent so far.
I did cook up some more potatoes. |
I am going no card for Lent. Going well so far. No weight loss though. |
Do you mean no carb? I mean your choice of course, but sounds like an indulgence to me. |
That is a legit tactic to keep the weight coming off or not creeping up. Calorie cycling. I do it all the time. |
inflammation is decreasing |
Really? Is that what is happening? I only ate homemade meals, no pasta, no store prepped meals, just my cooking of veggies, fish and ate fruit. |
Yes. Store prepared also has a ton of salt. |
What? |
Completely not religious here - do people always give up food and lose a ton of weight during lent? What if you don't have any weight you want or need to lose? Just turn into Skeletor and then pig out when it's over? |
No, people don't lose a ton of weight during Lent. Most will eat bread and potato chips and such. And most will not observe it fully animal product free, but rather give up drinking or sweets or chocolate. Or they might give up something else, such a TV or phone or what they think is suitable for them. |
