Which private schools are struggling to fill classes?

Anonymous
I have heard rumors that certain schools are close to failure after being underenrolled for several years. Does anyone know which schools are under pressure?

What certain schools did you hear about?

Harbor

McLean, no? Shame.

Harbor is a lovely school but too far out for many families.

I think McLean is fine. The kindergarten was underenrolled but thats not their major entry point and the rest of the enrollment is fine. They are certainly not close to failure and actually seem to be doing well.

Norwood, WES, and Capitol Hill Day School.

Not sure about norwood. what is their enrollment? They are doing an expansion so why would they be close to failure?

I would be surprised if WES were having any serious issues. It is a terrific school. We do not have a child there but it has always been on our short short list. Moreover, I gather they had a great exmissions year this past spring.

I don't think any of these schools are struggling. There's something really irresponsible about this thread.

Norwood is financially very healthy.

Get some ice packs and deal.....

What a weird conclusion to come to.....School is suffering b/c they won't provide fridges for all the kids' lunch boxes. Ridiculous.

It's just really gossipy and serves no good purpose. I question the motives of starting this post.

The question didn't say the schools are struggling in totality, just struggling to fill classes. And that is a reality at a lot of schools. Enrollment is down. What is irresponsible about acknowledging that and exploring which schools it is happening at and the possible reasons why?
