Honestly not Beauvoir--go with one that goes through 12th. So much easier to switch out of than into later if you have a change of heart.

They’re not that different just pick one. It’ll be fine.

Sidwell

Not Beauvoir. It’s not that strong academically.

Not Sidwell. It's too weird with all the bell ringing start to the day -- WOKE from day one. Spare your kid!

Sounds like you are trying to save your WL DC a spot at Beauvoir.

The Beauvoir are the kids who go to STA/NCS and nail admissions to multiple ivies.

My kid was accepted for pre-k and it isn't our first choice. We are more likely going to accept Sidwell so fear not parents...there will likely be at least one slot from the waiting list unless they offer more than they expect will accept.

If by "strong academically," you mean worksheets and rote memorization, you're right. Beauvoir is terrible that way.

Beauvoir offers developmentally appropriate education. My kids loved learning and couldn't wait to go school every day. They got everything they needed to excel at STA and Sidwell. The were intellectually curious, had great critical thinking skills, social skills and confidence. Now in upper and middle school, they all talk about how much they loved Beauvoir.

Your upper school kids talk about their time in preschool?

If you want NCS/STA later, go with Beauvoir. If you don’t, you don’t. Beauvoir was a lovely place for my DC through third grade. It was developmentally appropriate, a beautiful setting, terrific teachers. DC is thriving after several years at NCS/STA. I would not choose one of the others if you want a Cathedral school later. Congrats on a wealth of great options!

This seems like a total troll post. Why on earth would you choose a pk-3 when you're just going to end up applying to GDS and Sidwell again later on.

Of course they do.

I’d pick GDS. Goes thru 12 grade. All the kids seem happy, you don’t have to drive out to Bethesda. It’s not as woke as they say.
