LOL. Also waitlisted. I think they only had 10 seats they told us for 6th grade.

Is it foolish to even hope that some of the awarded spots will be rejected by kids who got into multiple places and choose elsewhere, and the waitlist will actually move? I was really hoping for clarity today and looking forward to either planning or moving on, and honestly hadn’t even considered we’d be waitlisted (this is my first rodeo).

They do not have many spots and a lot of people apply. The list will move. Last year we knew if 6 kids who got in for 9th. Two were siblings, the other 4 had to pick between Sidwell, GDS and Cathedral schools. 2 of the 4 went to another school.

I know of one girl who didn’t chose Maret last year for 9th. I imagine there are plenty of others.

And the real question is whether the school’s yield was what the school expected - only then would they go to the WL for offers?

Last year a little under 30 new students about 1/3 siblings. Siblings were notified early and have said yes.

I would think(but do not know) it is about a quarter who do not accept. So maybe 5-6?

My daughter was waitlisted for 4th.

It’s really the only school that does not do the pressure cooker model.
