GEICO versus Encompass car insurance - anyone have experience with both

Anonymous
Thinking of switching from GEICO to encompass car insurance to save quite a lot of money on house insurance.

On paper they seem comparable in terms of coverage and car road side services.

Anyone had experience with both and prefer one or the other ?

Thanks in advance

Current experience with GEICO has been awful. I was involved in an accident recently that was not my fault, but the other person claims I’m responsible. Claims have been filed on both sides and I cannot get anyone at GEICO to call me back. Horrible, horrible customer service.

Sorry for your experience. That really sucks.

I have had two fender benders caused by the other drivers but luckily they did not contest that. Even so, GEICO upped our insurance premium. I hit the roof and spoke to various GEICO reps that it is unfair to make innocent clients who are driving safely pay the cost for irresponsible drivers. One of them even said they questioned the ethics of that policy in their training. They backed down and reduced my premium to pre accident costs.

However, apart from that I have found GEICO to be OK. When I have a flat tire or battery they send roadside assistance quickly and their reps were actually helpful and polite after those fender benders.

But I have no experience with Encompass and don’t even know anyone who uses them. We have house insurance with them though.

So apparently Encompass is a subsidiary of All State. Their Advantages are for specifically for bundling auto and home insurance. The elite auto package contains auto accident forgiveness so drivers at fault are not penalized in future premiums.

Geico has been bad lately. I switched over to a different company after 15 years with them.
Reason?

Besides high premiums, they tried to cheat me on rental car reimbursement. I drove a luxury car and paid high premium for rental car policy. When I'd gotten into an accident, I rented a compatible car, and the total rental cost was still below the allowed amount per policy. Geico, however, only paid for a regular mid-size rate ($25/day vs. $50/day for compatible car), and I was charged with the difference.

After a month of given a run around, I contacted state insurance commission. They paid the difference within a week.

Sorry to hear that.

Which company did you switch to?

Are you happy with them?

I use USAA. I had someone with GEICO hit me like a decade ago and the claims process was very easy. I just had to take my car to their building in Friendship Heights and they did a quick assessment and then I took it to one of their recommended auto body shops, which was in Silver Spring, and they covered everything and the shop did a good job. Easy peasy.

This is the shortened version of the RACIST HATE, DISCRIMINATION, DEFAMATION, and FALSE ACCUSATIONS I experienced during my time with geico insurance. I hope whoever gets to read this helps play a part in making a positive change in society, and our communities, and stands against racial injustice, and hate.
I am a God fearing father, and entrepreneur, who has NEVER been to prison. I'm human so I make mistakes but, I seriously take pride in making the right decisions in life. Choosing geico was not the right decision. My experience with geico insurance was terrible. I trusted geico with multiple autos. I no longer trust geico with anything. Unfortunately I had a vehicle stolen in Dec. of 2019. This was the first, and only time this had ever happened. I immediately let geico know what happened. Geico requested that I transfer the title, and offered me compensation for the stolen vehicle. After I transferred the title, their reps told me the investigation was pending.
Geico prolonged the pending investigation for years. This was my first experience of 1 of my vehicles being stolen in my life so I didn't know what to expect. The only thing I could do at the time was trust God, the provider of my life, and geico, my insurance provider. God didn't fail but geico surely did. Thank God I'm here today to tell everyone about my experience with geico.
When my vehicle was stolen, like many people, I was upset, disappointed, misplaced. I'm a private person so I didn't talk to many people about my stolen vehicle. I was told to wait while geico finished their investigation. I waited. I had nothing to hide so I reached out to geico continuously for updates, and to provide everything they needed to help the process. They continued to claim their investigation was pending for months. Then months became years until I found out they LIED ON MY NAME, and claimed I sold the same vehicle that was stolen to the thief who had my vehicle. I had never met, heard of, nor spoken with the thief that was found with my vehicle.
How I found out what was going on was the craziest part of my experience with geico. As I was traveling back into the U.S.A., I was ARRESTED for the FALSE ACCUSSATION that I had committed INSURANCE FRAUD. Geico lied and said that I sold the vehicle that was stolen from me. I was taken to jail in the airport IN FRONT OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. I could only ask God why would this happen me, or anybody. As I write this today I reveal why.
The entire time I was never told of the lies that were being told on me by geico, or the thief who stole my vehicle. I continuously followed up with geico, but they lied to me the entire time about the investigation.
After I found out what was going on, I IMMEDIATELY began providing proof of the false accusations. For example, my airline account showed proof that I was not located where the thief claimed I sold him the stolen vehicle during the time frame he said I sold it to him. I TRAVEL ALOT so this was 1 of the ways I was able to expose the lies of the thief, and geico. I also showed other forms of proof of their false accusations.
The same warrant I was arrested in the airport for is still open. I've gone to courthouses, and the main police station in the area, and have never been threatened to be arrested, however the warrant is still open.
Again, this is the shortened version of the RACIST HATE, DISCRIMINATION, DEFAMATION, and FALSE ACCUSATIONS I experienced during my time with geico. I am a God fearing father, and entrepreneur, who has NEVER been to prison. I'm not perfect, like everyone else, however, I always try to live a righteous life, and make good decisions in life. I am a globally known business owner, and community philanthropist who has succeeded enough in life to NEVER do anything as stupid, and idiotic as geico falsely claimed I did.
I'm sure not all geico reps are evil, injust, and corrupt but, if I was able to experience an unjustness like this then it's probably happened before, and maybe God is using me so it doesn't continue to happen. Geico later told me they didn't want anything to do with me, or the investigation. I hope everyone gets to see my experience with geico. This has truly been the worst experience of my life.
This bad experience is now truly turning into a blessing, as I am doing my part, and speaking up against racist hate, and racial injustice. I hope whoever gets to read this helps make a positive impact in someway in our communities, locally, and around the world, and stands against racial injustice, and hate like this experience with geico insurance.
