| If you were going to have an entire meal (for 2) paid for by someone else, where would you go? I'm ruling out Inn at Little Washington, because that's not really my vibe. I'm looking for something like a steakhouse or a seafood restaurant that's not super fancy dress but is as expensive as possible. Would prefer it to be in Maryland (but truly, anywhere in Maryland), rather than DC or VA. Overpriced is fine, as long as the food is good. |
| How about Duck Duck Goose in Bethesda? |
| It's in DC, but Albi's is excellent. Pineapples and Pearls is also fun and expensive. |
| Minibar. |
Promising. I just wish it wasn't only the one super expensive entree.
|
| What about Charleston in Baltimore? |
Promising - a little fancier than I'd prefer, but DEFINITELY the right price! |
I've heard people like this, but I'm looking for more of a meal and less of an experience, if that makes sense. |
| Jont. Go for broke |
| What kind of food do you like? If you go somewhere and don’t actually enjoy the food it doesn’t really matter how expensive it is. |
I think I might have issues with the menus at both of these (although I can't see one for Pineapples and Pearls) - I have a few food sensitivities and I'd rather just go somewhere that I know it's not an issue (usually places that are more basic). But Pineapples and Pearls is temptingly expensive, so I might make an exception for that one. |
I'd say my favorite is seafood (although not lobster, which I know is the most expensive thing). I do like a lot of different ethnic food (Thai, Ethiopian, Mexican, Spanish especially), but those tend to not be as expensive, or at least, the places that I go aren't that expensive. Alcohol is included, so DH said to ask if there's a place that has any Pappy available. |
| I'd go to Fiola Mar but its in DC |
oooooh, this looks GOOD! Expensive and food that I'd like! I might make an exception and go into DC for this one. |
| Bourbon Steak, Fiola Mare, or Joe’s would probably be my choice. Maybe Shoto but I haven’t been there yet/don’t know how the food is. |
