Our school sent home results today. DS got a 98. He'd like to be in Algebra 1 honors so now we just wait to see how he does on the SOL...

He should be fine with the SOL since it is the 7th grade one and not the 8th grade like it has been in the past (a while ago)

My child scored a 97. Is algebra really difficult at that level? I just worry about skipping prealgebra and missing the fundamentals.

Isn't 7th grade math pre algebra?

Mine brought it home 2 days back, 99 percentile. He will be going to Russian School of Math in summer for 3 weeks to make sure there is some practice before school starts. We are in an ES in McLean.

My daughter got 98 - we were elated but it looks like it is a common score. Didn’t realize this test was so easy.

It's a 98th percentile score, so out of a hundred thousand random students, there'd be about two thousand with that or better.

This area is not, however, random. Even less so the upper-class oriented DCUM. And people choosing to post on the AAP board on DCUM are still more selective. High scores are going to be common in this thread.

I would guess that the people posting here have kids who scored well. I would be surprised to see parents whose kids scored poorly posting here.
