| I just left a hotel today and left my usual $5 per day, but am now thinking that with inflation I should’ve left more. How much are you all leaving these days? |
| I don’t. It’s included in the (crazy) price of hotels. We are neat and clean and if we could restock the room ourselves, we would. |
Do you change the sheets on those heavy mattresses too? I leave about $5-10 a night, but there was a thread where others left more? |
|
Nothing. I’ve never left a tip for housekeeping and don’t plan to. I stayed at a Fairfield Inn last month for three nights. When I checked into the room they had an envelope out, asking for tips.
Not a big deal, I’ve seen that before. I just ignore it. However, when I came back from my meeting, my room was not made up. Called the front desk and they are only doing housekeeping every 5 days. FFS. And you have the gall to ask for tips when you aren’t doing anything?? |
| $5/day |
+1000. I’m not tipping housekeepers. Hell, half the time, they don’t even bother cleaning the room each day. What exactly am I tipping for? |
OP here…. The staff did clean our room each day. I would agree if housekeeping didn’t come in |
| No tip. Besides used towels folded neatly I leave the room much cleaner than when I come. I wip everything down with Lysol wipes and scrub out the tub. |
| $3-4 |
Tough. If they aren’t up for the job, don’t work in housekeeping. Not my problem. Team no tip. |
| $5 day. |
What???? Please say you're joking. |
+1. |
Agreed on the no tip part but you bring cleaning supplies on vacation? Me thinks you are trolling. |
| Another for $5/day. Those cleaning crews don’t see much of the $ you’re paying to stay there |
