| We are looking at new front doors, and while I love the look of glass front doors, I wonder how people who have them feel about security and privacy (although ours would look into a foyer/hallway. My husband does not like the look of the privacy glass, so if we bought one, it would be clear glass. I know there are doors that only have glass at the top (like the craftsman style) but we are more interested in a 1/2 or 3/4 glass door. In addition to liking the look, we would like the added light. |
| You are in a fishbowl at night. Perpetrators can look đź‘€ in easily at you. Hate them. |
| I have them and hate them because of the constant fingerprint and smudging. You can’t see beyond our foyer so we don’t have a privacy issue. |
| We have multiple front doors including glass French doors. I love them. We are way back from the street and privacy doesn’t really factor in. I just love the sleek look. I do get dog nose prints on them though. |
| We have glass front doors and love them. It’s not a privacy concern for us at night because it leads into large foyer and we don’t hang out in the foyer. |
| I think it’s crazy and would make me incredibly uncomfortable. You can see everything from outside. And you can’t decide to not answer the door. Plus, they are just a rock away from reaching in and unlocking your front door when they can clearly see you are not home. |
| We are about 12 steps above the street so there's no line of sight. It's nice being able to see people when they come to the door. |
| I'd be fine with it if it leads to a foyer but I'm pretty okay with people seeing the foyer or me walking by. Other people cover all the windows every night so it's definitely a preference thing. |
| I hate it!!! I fear a break in. We got a gun. I try to keep 1st floor dark, no lights on at night so it doesn't look open. Avoid avoid! Feeling unsafe sucks |

I switched out our front door (Cap Hill RH) for full length glass panes. I love the light and actually enjoy watching street life.
I absolutely do not care about people looking in. I take night walks all the time and love looking into windows to see how places are decorated. The only thing anyone sees looking in my door is me watching TV. Who cares? |

Our house had one. It came with the build. Took a walk one night and could see inside everyone's home. Creeped me out.
Aside from the privacy part, the doors are not safe. As in glass makes it flimsy. We changed our door with a solid core and a speakeasy. Two deadbolts and a handle lock. No one is getting in. |

Get a Provia catalog and find something that works.
There are many types of privacy glass. |
LOL, why TF would you buy a gun instead of a new front door? You need help. |
You need meds, honey. And please, before you shoot someone you know or the FedEx guy, get rid of the gun. |
+ 1 We are also elevated so people can only see in if they are at the door. The door faces the stairs and hall. We love the extra light. It is only annoying if I am already dressed for bed and then realize I need to get something from downstairs or if my kid takes a shower and comes up in a towel. It also means you can’t delay opening the door if neighbor or friends show up, you have to open whether you are ready or not. But overall it is fine. |
