Why Middle Eastern?
I’ve loved everything I’ve read by Abdulrazak Gurnah. If you’re looking for quality literature, themes of colonialism, slavery, aging Islamic cultures, you will find it here. But he is Tanzanian, from Zanzibar. If you liked Orham Pamuk and Naghiub Mahfouz, you will want to add Gurnah to your list. |
