One of my neighbors sold their house 1.5 years ago and are now zoned for another FCPS school. Their sophomore kid is still attending Oakton high. Is this somehow allowed or are they manipulating the system….wwyd? |
I’d let it go. HS is only four years. It’s a pretty self-limiting problem. |
I wouldn't care. |
Call the police. |
Maybe they're paying tuition |
Anonymous note to the school secretary ought to do the trick if the school wants to do anything about it. If they don't for some reason then they will just look the other way. |
Were they good neighbors or no? Any scores to settle? |
I doubt it. They’re penny pinchers. |
I’m happy they are no longer neighbors nor on the same bus, but I don’t like cheaters. |
Good idea! Thanks for the note. |
You couldn’t possibly know what arrangements they have.
Only look in someone else’s bowl to be sure they have enough, OP. |
Some school districts allow the student to their program at original school to reduce disruption to their academics.
Does that make sense OP? |
So yours (their old) school district/boundary is better than the one they should be at? |
Lots of reasons. Former neighbor’s kid might have an IEP that you are unaware of (not all disabilities are visible) and they are allowed to stay as a result. |
Yes, Oakton is a much better school than their zoned base school. |
