Engine stalling issue in 2 month old new car

Anonymous
I live in VA and purchased a new car from the dealership in my town in November 2022. Last week I got a recall notice that the car can unexpectedly shut down without warning due to the engine stalling. Currently no remedy is available.
Needless to say I do not feel safe driving the car and putting my life or the public at risk
I requested a buyback from both the dealer and manufacturer and both are refusing. The manufacturer told me that there is no date when the remedy will be available and all I can do is wait
Can I cite the VA lemon law to put pressure on the dealer/manufacturer to repurchase the vehicle ?
Anyone in a similar situation please advise

What is your basis for requesting buy back? It hasn’t happened to you right? I don’t see how lemon law applies to you. Just calm down and wait until they figure it out.

So what you are suggesting is for OP to wait until the engine stalls in the middle of the road and hope that there is no car pileup?
Wow!

With Lemon Law, you have to bring it in and give them time to fix it. Reasonable time. I'm not sure how that's interpreted these days.

We had this happen in North Carolina with a Volvo.

Ugh it was awful and the car had the issue. It would die in parking lots, not restart.

We ended up selling it to Honda for a trade, yep we lost some money I think it was a few thousand I didn't care car was not safe.

Yes. Exactly. Can still moves when engine dies. Turn the blinker on. Let the car come to a complete stop. Restart. Most likely it won't ever happen.

Mercedes is currently recalling old models for a similar problem and Toyota did a recall for stalling in 2016. Search online for how those cases were resolved.

Benz issue is an old issue. First two, they already know how to fix it so I don't think OP owns those (per her post). I can't figure out which car OP is driving.

The recall covers 2012-2020. I had the same issue with my Benz and it is not covered in this recall. I got rid of it and will never buy another Mercedes.

Ridiculous. People have been badly injured and killed when a car suddenly stalls on a freeway.

What do you suggest? Op’s not having any issues with her car. Call the dealer 2 months later and tell them you want your money back?
