I live in VA and purchased a new car from the dealership in my town in November 2022. Last week I got a recall notice that the car can unexpectedly shut down without warning due to the engine stalling. Currently no remedy is available. Needless to say I do not feel safe driving the car and putting my life or the public at risk I requested a buyback from both the dealer and manufacturer and both are refusing. The manufacturer told me that there is no date when the remedy will be available and all I can do is wait Can I cite the VA lemon law to put pressure on the dealer/manufacturer to repurchase the vehicle ? Anyone in a similar situation please advise
We had this happen in North Carolina with a Volvo. Ugh it was awful and the car had the issue. It would die in parking lots, not restart. We ended up selling it to Honda for a trade, yep we lost some money I think it was a few thousand I didn't care car was not safe.
