MCAP scores - weren't they supposed to be out in late January for some grades?

Anonymous
I swear I read that somewhere

Seriously. Kids took the test 9+ months ago. We all know the results are appalling overall--but we still have the right to the specific results for our kids.

Is the problem MCPS or MSDE?

I'm all for transparency and full disclosure but I couldn't care less about when MCAP comes out. I already know how my kids are doing.

It's MSDE. Same thing as last year and frankly, I couldn't care less about MCAP.

I find it unacceptable that they make the students take these state tests and do not disclose their results in a timely manner. They take away from instruction time, expect our kids to take the test and yet do not share the scores. Thats really appalling

Agreed. It truly feels like they're trying to withhold information from parents.

A little like in Virginia? Was it Fairfax or Loudon County where parents weren't provided their kids scored and the Governor tried to step in.

Completely agree. It took up so much time in the spring and messed up the instructional program. Mcps- what is your explanation?

Look MCPS is a rapidly declining public school system. Why provide its critics with more ammo?

Idiot, it's state assessment. Direct your fake outrage at the state.

It is, but last year the results came from MCPS. It seems like the state shares them with MCPS, which then is supposed to send home the reports to families.

Do you engage in that type of name calling in real life?

It's MCPS's job to communicate with families to let them know that the initial date they gave for the release of scores will not be met because of whatever reason they have.

My kid who qualified for AIME apparently failed the MCAP algebra test. I don't think it's a very good test.
