Has anyone replaced their dishwasher with wine fridge?

I’m in the process of buying a new house and we just had the house inspected and it has a broken dishwasher. I never use the dishwasher and I’m considering replacing it with a wine fridge. Has anyone else done this? To impractical/issue when reselling?

I mean, I wouldn’t do that, but I also wouldn’t worry about resale when I’m buying. It will be your house; make it what you want. If it’s an issue later, you can replace it or give a credit. I can’t imagine not buying a house because there’s no dishwasher; you can always install one; small potatoes compared to the cost of a house.

For resale it’s a mistake, but not a big deal if you leave the hole the same size. Realistically, you ought to put a dishwasher back in there before marketing the house.

But while it’s your house, sure, do what you want.

As long as there are the hookups needed for a dishwasher, and the hole is the same size, I don't see an issue.

If you don't have to change the space structurally, go for it. Just cap the water line so it's ready to swap out.

I haven’t used a dishwasher for 2 years and I’ve hated every minute of it. Our new dishwasher finally arrives on Monday and it will be my moment of 2023.

No. Most everyone wants a dishwasher. If you want to replace the wine fridge with a dishwasher when you move out, that would work.
