Best 2-3 days to go into the office 2023

We are going back to the office in March and will be in DC 2-3 days week. The other 2-3 days will continue WFH.

I am think of choosing M and F as my office days to split the week.

I hat days do you go into the office?

I will be coming from VA.

Traffic wise M and F are the best. But that’s because most people choose WFH those days.

Do you want to minimize traffic? M/F sounds good.

Do you want to maximize how many coworkers you can interact with in person? earlier in the week.

Do you want to go in as little as possible? Mon because all of the holidays & either Tues, Thurs, or Fri (each has a federal holiday in 2023)

I would probably go Monday and Tuesday if it were me.

It’s nice to have the possibility of working remotely on either M or F if you travel on weekends.

Team day is Thursday, so no choice to telework that day.

I actually go in Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday because I like to see people and the office is empty Monday and Friday

I currenlty go Tuesday's which is perfect for me - WFH Monday to ease into the week, and then get it over with quickly. It's unclear how it will work when start going back more (we are hearing 2-3 days a week), because currently we do not have space for everyone to have their desk. If possible I will go Tuesday/Thursday, Tuesday/Wednesday would also be ok.

The few times that I've gone in on a Tuesday after Monday being a holiday it sucked scrambling to get everything ready the night before - would much rather have a WFH buffer day.

I did Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in office before I went back full-time. (We either could be WFH on Monday or Friday but not both.) I liked it because by Wednesday I was desperate for a day at home and then Thursday I was refreshed for the one day back in the office.

I wash my hair every other day, so I'd choose M/W/F so I can wash on Tues/Thurs and weekend days.

People in my office are all over the place. I prefer to go in midweek (Tues/Wed/Thursday) since the most people are there and so it is most worth my while to be in the office. Other people prefer Monday/Friday for the traffic and/or because they want to avoid seeing other people.

I go in twice a week and I do Monday/Friday. I’m often the only one in the office, traffic is light, there are a decent number of Monday holidays, I’ve found this schedule to be perfect. I also love the 3 straight days of WFH instead of an every other day rotation.

Why go in on Fridays? No one is there. Just go in when others are in. Tues Wed or Wed thurs.

I chose this at my fed agency. I got tired of schlepping my laptop back and forth. It stays in the office Monday and Tuesday nights now.

Plus, there are a lot of Monday holidays, and those weeks I only go in Tu/W.
