It's cold, it's the weekend, teens need a bit of TLC. What cake should we bake?!?

I really like the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory.

Nothing says love like red velvet cake in Feb

I made this a few weeks ago and it was really good:

The cake was very moist with perfect crumb, and I loved the combination of chocolate and tart from the raspberries.

It's time. Time to make the Restaurant Eve's Cake.

You don't have to tint the frosting pink, or use sprinkles, but doing both things makes it taste better

I think that is Beatty’s chocolate cake: https://barefootcontessa.com/recipes/beattys-chocolate-cake. It is fabulous.

DP. Was curious as to what this cake looked like based on the recipe, so pulled it up. It's not what I would make for a random weekend cake (I'll always go either chocolate forward, fruit forward, or spice/carrot cake) but I bet my DD would LOVE this for her birthday!

Something with fancy decorations. Maybe even cake pops.

Thank you for sharing the photo! It has brightened my afternoon. It makes a ton of frosting so prepare yourself.

For random weekend baking, I prefer a loaf cake or simple bundt - for whatever reason it lends itself to snacking better. I love lemon poppyseed, plain and chocolate chip pound cakes, and my latest interest has been olive oil cakes with citrus - I love the Simple Cakes cookbook!

However, for an occasion, that Restaurant Eve cake looks fantastic, as does Ina’s coconut came.

Not a typical cake, but my pick would be warm gingerbread with butter and jam
