Jack Evans pulls no punches. The highlights:
- 2023 is on pace to have the most homicides since 1995, and the most juveniles shot and killed
- The size of the police force (3,400) is the smallest in 50 years
- Police know who the people doing the shooting are
- Violence interrupters and social workers have been funded for 30 years and its never worked
- People intentionally do not commit as many crimes in MD and VA due to fear of harsher penalties
- Education and social services are 60% of budget and after billions spent for 30 years nothing has improved

Vote for Republican or centrist council members. There are a few running every time. Elect some! A Republican in DC local govt. would be a democrat anywhere else except San Francisco.

Welp. We are gonna have to wait until at least 2026 to turn this ship around. That is the earliest Charles Allen, Brianne Nadeau, and the Pro-Crime gang can be voted out of office. Until then we will be living in a city where the lives of decent, hard-working people of all races, ethnicities, and ages are not worth as much as the lives of criminals.

Ask DOJ. They prosecute crime for adults in the District.

Exactly this. It isn't rocket science. Put the bad guys behind bars and keep them there. Of course there is no magic bullet. But allowing rampant criminality, whether carrying guns or fare evasion, just encourage more of the same.
