China could literally end the US as a viable economic entity with one announcement. That is what Trump is playing with.

How? I don't think you know how treasuries work. They aren't bearer bonds.

The bigger danger is Trump refusing to pay them when they mature, thereby defaulting, and throwing away 250 years of national credibility.
