Still deciding and hoping that someone has a little pearl of wisdom to share?

Cost is approximately the same for all

Macalester
Pitt
Oberlin
Wisconsin

Macalester!

Sorry I should’ve explained why…it’s because I live in and love the twin cities and think it would be a good place to go to college. Madison would be great too if your kid prefers a bigger school. I personally prefer smaller so I’d pick macalester. Don’t really know Pitt or Oberlin so can’t comment on those.

Oh also Macalester has a strong Jewish organization if your kid is interested. I think the school is 6-7% Jewish which is pretty large for a SLAC.

But every other school on PP’s list has a higher percentage of Jewish students:
Oberlin 23% Jewish
Wisconsin 11% Jewish
Pitt 8.5% Jewish

DC really doesn't care about being around Jews, per se. I mention DC is "Jewish" because I worry about a culture of animosity because of it.

Oberlin

Wisconsin. I would recommend checking out the Mothers Against College Antisemitism Facebook page.

Stop trying to make "wisco" happen. NO ONE WHO ACTUALLY GOES THERE OR KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT IT CALLS IT THAT!

If we're still playing --

Accepted for CS major but unsure. Thinking economics with a math focus instead. Undecided really. Costs relatively the same except for travel but not an issue.

Butler
Loyola Chicago
Loyola Maryland
Marquette
Union College

Will not have a car on campus.

no they absolutely do not. I went there as an OOS student. I’ve never heard anyone call it that except on DCUM.
