Chocolate cake for special occasion

I'm looking for stellar Black Forest Cake, or another chocolate based specialty cake. N.VA/dmv

Ex: I once had an Earl Grey Chocolate Cherry cake from Junction Bakery that I still dream about. However, that pastry chef has since moved on.

If you are interested in baking it yourself, Ina Garten's chocolate cake with espresso is amazing, and easy to make.

Pastries by Randolph has a chocolate truffle cake that's very good.
MD, but not too inconvenient from Nova: Praline bakery has a good chocolate mousse cake
DC, Georgetown - Patisserie Poupon or Kafe Leopold have some great cakes.

I couldn't believe how good the chocolate cake is at good old Wegman's! I usually don't bother since it's not worth the calories and this def. was!

I like Ina's cake and made it for years as a special occasion cake, but I really love this one from Smitten Kitchen so much more. I've made raspberry filing for it, used the ganache, oh, my goodness, it is so good.
