If this is the national merit scholar issue, I think you will find that a lot of people don’t think it’s stupid nor would consider their child’s achievement a “consolation prize”.

The state could give the entire additional $210M to FCPS and the useless clowns and hypocrites in charge of the county’s schools would find a way to spend it on useless equity crap and still leave kids in dumpy trailers and cheap modulars.

The FCPS budget is $2.5 billion. FCPS could probably find $210 million in the couch cushions.
