postcard from W&M

DS got a postcard from W&M today saying they "anticipate sending you good news this spring." Am I reading into this or does it make sense to be optimistic that he will get in?

It’s a likely letter and is good news.

Yes, it's a likely letter...congratulations if your DS is interested.

Just checked the mailbox. Also got one card from W&M: Hope to see you on campus this fall!

As other's have said it's good news. They don't send them to everyone and it's not some indicator of some superior status but to receive the post card with the cypher is good news. My kid was a Monroe Scholar admit and never received one but your news is good, congratulations.

Isn’t MCPS Montgomery County? How is that in state for Virginia?

OP here: Sorry, clearly not multi-tasking very well. We are OOS, MCPS.

Thank you. So... they anticipate sending good news... what could make it go the other way? Other than bad first semester grades? Should DS send a thank you note?

No thank you note. As far as your other concern...your child has done well in school I suppose? Do you have some feeling they are going to all of a sudden get bad grades? Continue on the path and if their desire is to attend W & M than it is a pretty good certainty they will.

Can you postcard recipients give us an idea of your kids’ stats? Thanks!
