Have you ever made a request prior to your arrival at your hotel or resort and it was honored? I’m talking on the luxury side not motel 6.
Four Seasons Disney had my kid’s name embroidered on a child size robe waiting in the room. Another resort had a photo of cooked bacon next to the bed. On another note, my kid left their iPad at a resort in Mexico and before it came home with someone we knew staying there, the staff photographed it all over the resort like the spa, the pool, the bar, the kitchen. It was so great. |

Why would you want a photo of bacon next to your bed?
Or photos of you ipad all over the resort? Feel like this is black lotus season 2 |
Why wouldn’t you? I didn’t ask for photos of the iPad. The resort sent the pictures showing all the adventures it went on when left behind. It was cute and funny! |
| Photo of cooked bacon???? Is this actually a message dead drop between spies |
| Any nice place that we've stayed has put some kind of towel sculpture or stuffed animal on the kids' beds |
| Have never done this because I don't want to be THAT person, or raise my kids to expect people to run around doing silly things. Not to say I don't appreciate a bowl of fruit, or other treats left in the room (one hotel had a plate of Christmas cookies and candy when we arrived on Christmas Day), but I am not going to demand it. |
| You’re way out of my price league. I’ve asked for extra toilet paper and towels. |
|
The reason I ask not demand a photo of cooked bacon 🥓 is specifically to test their check-in apps or online that have a random box that asks if the can do anything to make your hotel stay special.
I never expect it but if you are going to have a place to fill in Freeform something, then maybe they should actually read it. And I love bacon! |
I'd take a pic of me reselling it and then a pic of the cash in my hand. |
which hotel was this? |
The old JW Marriott Oahu. |
So annoying. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should |
This reminds me of the ridiculous things celebrities put on their riders. And that celebrities feel the need to put something outlandish on there to feel special. I’m sure that guest services had a great opinion of the bacon family and restrained themselves from mocking them behind their backs. I have a friend who used to manage the four seasons in hk, and the stories of entitled people were nauseating. |
You’ve obviously never worked in retail or a restaurant and I sincerely hope you encourage your kids to do so someday, so they understand why this is obnoxious and not cute. |
Just so you know, when you work in the service industry, you make fun of everyone. Even the most pleasant and normal guest will be made fun of for some reason. We give nicknames to everyone. "1102 needs a humidifier asap" "copy, who is 1102?" "Mr. & Mrs. Smith - chronic sniffer guy" "ohhh haha yep, on it!" Housekeeping also will take photos of crazy crap they find in your room and share it with staff. If you think a photo of that hot pink "member" you left suction cupped to the shower didn't make its way to every employee, you're crazy. You're also known as hot pink di**o guy. You're even in the system as that. Our software allows for guest notes and also blocks if you turn out to be a beast of a guest/destroy things. We can block you from that hotel or all hotels under that group depending on your offense. |
