While searching for news about the lock down at Rachel Carson today, came across this crazy story of a pedo left to run amok in mcps for 17 years!

That's sickening. Their handling of criminal situations is... criminal in itself. They place students in harm's way for years and years, and suffer no consequences for it!

Why was he never arrested?

The story is from over a decade ago. Why are you bringing it up now?

The problem is that you can’t fire a teacher for being creepy. Also, the problem is that children are not very good witnesses. What usually happens is they are creepy for a decade or two and eventually a girl and it’s usually a girl goes off to college becomes independent and intelligent and a free thinker and they come back to Montgomery County Police and report.

Sadly, the male lawmakers in Maryland had a law on the books that the statute of limitations for things like this would run out so if somebody came to the police after they were 25 there’s nothing they could do.

A movie came out, called the keepers that exposed the lawmakers in Maryland, and they changed the statute of limitations.

Because nothing has changed.

Not the OP, but if you have been paying attention, MCPS continues to have issues. It’s worse than the Catholic Church, and parents should be aware of how the system protects pedophiles more than it cares about children.

I haven't seen any policy changes that address how this was allowed to happen, and many of.the board members that allowed this to happen are still active. What makes you think think this couldn't be happening right now?

Wow. Thank you to the person who shared this.

Huh? None of the board members from that time are still on the board.

Honestly there should just be videos in classrooms. To protect everyone. If I were a teacher I'd welcome that.

+1. MCPS is truly worse than the recent church.

If the best they can do is dig up a story from 10 years ago, then MCPS is in good shape. Any county of over a million people is bound to have a few incidents every decade or two.
