Ever gone to the auto show?

I've seen the ads...the bit about there being a section for electrics was interesting, since we haven't seen some of them in person before and are considering one in the next year or two.

Has anyone been?

Yeah, it's a fun thing to do if you're interested in cars.

Yeah we went last year and are going tomorrow. Neat to see the concept cars, how insanely huge pickups have become since I rode in them regularly, and compare different cars we could conceivably get. There's a section downstairs with kiddie rides and classic cars on display from local owners.

Yes but I like cars. There are not any of the German brands there this year. I’m not going. Don’t need to see a bunc log of chevys.

My little girl is a car nut and we all went in 2020 and had a blast! Her fav part was driving with the stunt drivers and the teen went on a rugged terrain drive with the other stunt team. A good time was had by all.

Unfortunately, auto shows in general seem to be declining. All brands used to exhibit at previous events but this year no BMW, Mercedes, Lincoln, Cadillac, Buick, or Land Rover.

Toyota and its Lexus brand have the largest presence.

The electric bike exhibit was pretty cool and new.

Food at the Convention Center was terrible and way overpriced.

I can’t imagine anything worse, but I don’t like to go car shopping either.

I think it’s interesting! I used to love going with my dad growing up.

Two of my kids are car geeks and this is one of their favorite things to do. Another is going to the junk yard. Neither appeal to me and I’m glad they are now old enough to go without me.

I've been going since 1983 as a 10 year old the old convention center. Always on the first night. Maybe missed 3 years over the past 40--would try to come back to dc from college-grad school-residency just to go. Went this past Friday. Couldn't even sit in the Hondas. The electric car "rides" were not available to anyone under 18 bc of liability concerns. My kids had more fun on the e-bikes than looking at the cars. We were in and out in 2 hours---normally we go for at least 5 and have a hard time leaving. This was the last year I'll ever go. Last year was bad. This year was just plain embarrassing. Don't go.

I went on Friday, and for the first time in my life, I didn’t see a single new car I was excited about.

I loved seeing some of the classics and customs they had on display though (except for the Camaro lowrider with the wheels castored wayyyy out stupidly). I think I’ve come to the age where I just don’t give a sh!t anymore about modern cars. Older stuff is soooo much more interesting to me now.

I'm not a car person, while DH kind of likes cars, he's certainly not an enthusiast. We started going when our oldest was a toddler because it was a good time killer/indoor activity for January, DS liked cars and the train ride down to the convention center. We've continued to go most years since. Haven't gotten there yet this year, may go next weekend.

Yes, used to take my kids when they were younger. It was a fun family outing, my boys loved it. Haven't gone in years.

ugh I live right by there and there is super good food around the convention center.. or a few blocks away. no reason to eat that stuff. Its a great place to go check out buys that you are actually looking to buy.. it saves time b/c they are all right there.
