On what income? If your are making $500k, that's not a lot.

Nice brag.

We saved 10k per month on 300k HHI

Any amount of savings per month is good. Most of the people on this board are uber-rich arseholes who probably save much more and will make comments that make you feel like a loser.

That’s what DH and I put in our 401ks each month on a 200k HHI. But we have no other savings, a from an emergency fund and small 529s for the kids.

Can I ask what your biweekly or monthly take home pay was on 300k?

Horseshit. Unless you are childless and your favorite hobby is sitting at home with your thumb up your ass.

We average about $5k on a HHI of $420k.

$5k is after 401ks/529s/monthly expenses/etc..

odd response. kids are grown/out of college... we are still working, not big spenders. no mortgage, monthly cc bill about 2500, annual tax about 5500 per year (about 500 per month). yes, if you want to split hair, we do make about 350 (vs 300). our take home after all the deductions is around 16k.

$20k a month (including 401k and matches) on $760k income.
