I am 45, 5'4" and my happy weight is 125-128. I was "brakes off" for the last few months of the year due to a collision course of stress factors, although I worked out the whole time, and when I weighed myself right after Christmas I was 132. Fine, annoying but fixable. THEN I weighed myself on Jan 2.
OMG. I was 141. I have no earthly idea how I gained 9 LBS IN 10 DAYS ?!! - I really didn't particularly go to town that last week or anything! So I put myself on macro-tracking, low-carb / high-protein 1200 calories a day and was really pleased when 5 lbs literally ripped off in a week. I do think part of it was my period. However, since then, I am STUCK at 136. I am working out six days a week (rotating bike, weights, and barre) and sticking meticulously to my tracking. My only downfall is I really struggle to hit 40% protein, it's usually closer to 30. I am so frustrated! I realize that in the scheme of things two weeks with no movement is probably not the end of the world, but I've never had this happen before. Usually if I go all in as described above, I can count on losing at least a pound a week - but I literally have been 136.xx every day. Short of developing a bad cocaine habit or mugging someone for their Wegovy, any suggestions on breaking through? |
If you put on the pounds quickly, but otherwise are hanging out 10 pounds lower usually, I’d stop exercising, cut sugar, and really watch your diet for a few weeks. That should get you back to where you were. Then ease back into exercise and normal eating. But it also could be the beginning of menopause, in which case, buckle up! |
You are STUCK for a full week? You need to calm down and keep doing what you are doing. Losing 1lb of fat would be strong progress at your size. |
correction in bold |
Ok deep breath OP. You gained a little, then some water weight on top of that which came right off.
Two weeks is not enough time to correct course. It may have only taken that long to put on, but taking it off is a whole different animal. Keep doing what you’re doing for 6-8 weeks and I bet you’ll see progress. Remember that you want your weight to trend down, but it goes a little up or a little down from that every day. Don’t let it distract or discourage you! |
Omg you are so fat you need a doctor. A therapist that is. |
Just be patient, give it another couple weeks |
Jesus, who cares? I feel so sorry for you |
I’m sorry. I feel your pain. I’m slightly shorter and lighter than you but when you add 15-20 pounds to your small frame it makes a huge difference. |
