| Does anyone else follow this fashion blog? I enjoy it, for the relatable and usually afforable styles festured, range of sizes of the contributors, and the inclusive, friendly, down to earth vibe. It is based in Philly, and the founder/main contributor is a mom with teen/tween sons. My wuestion for any fellow followers is this. She and her family seem to go on extremely long vacations which is cool enough, and the past few winters have entirely relocated to VT for the winter because her kids are avid skiers. Her oldest must be in HS. How does one do that logistically? I would love to be able to take extended trips with my kids, now that I work remotely. But I imagine it would be so hard to weave them in and out of schools mid year, plus my spouse and I need to occasionally go in for meetings, etc. Thoughts on how this is executed? I always secretly wish she’d explain this in a post, but I think understandably she doesn’t want to focus on the privilege connected to it. |
| Home or virtual school. |
| Homeschool or online school? There are quite a few niche schools that serve people who have a more nomadic lifestyle because they like it or their work (or, sometimes, their kids' work) requires it. I know a family that has this arrangement: the child studies online for most of the year and twice a year the whole "school" gets together at some location fir a month. The child is registered as being homeschooled in their school district. |
| I think there are ski academies in places like Vermont where they will provide the educational element to complement the skiing. How well this works in practice, I don’t know. |
| This is OP. I should have included in my post that it seems that her kids go to regular Philly public schools in the fall and spring, they just move to VT for the winter. If they home schooled all year I would understand it better. |
Some of the ski academies do just winter semesters. |
| I am curious too and was literally looking for annswers on the internet. I am also curious what happened in December that she referenced this weekend. |
| How is this Beauty or Fashion??? |
Shana is a longtime fashion blogger who is extremely savvy and makes loads of money. Big Golden Goose fan, if you want a sense of her fashion. |
This is a very popular fashion blog. |
But the discussion is how are her kids being taught if they're in VT skiing all day., logistics of moving each season, and the like...and even then it's a presumption OP made. |
Are you always this exhausting? |
Yes, but most public schools in other parts of the country aren’t going to excuse kids for 3 months to go ski. |
Philly schools have a little known remote option. |
| Most of these bloggers homeschool their kids, or their kids do something like K-12. |
