| To Current Latin Cooper Families: when is the move expected from Edgewood to the Kirov Building? Thanks! |
| Fall 2025, so two more school years after this one. |
Thank you! |
|
Haha so they were never moving east of the Anacostia.
It seems very clear that the upper-class oriented charters will never expand east of the River. |
This. And they will jump start gentrification in a new area and torpedo any momentum of any Ward 5 MS or HS. |
| Terrible. Latin is full of shit - as are many charters. |
I didn’t know where that building was at first but yea they are full of sh**. That’s five minutes from the current campus and certainly not going to attract kids from across the river. |
|
Not a Latin sympathizer at all.. but if there are no buildings over there and Cooper was always short term.. bird in the hand or two in the bush? Building came open and they took it?
Or is there a building east of river and they turned away? |
I am a Latin parent and they looked for AGES for a spot EOTR. |
So if they did try. And I believe you since you are a parent, why the animosity? They tried. No building. Where do parents expect them to build a school? Magic? |
| The real estate just didn't pan out EOTR. But I wish they'd at least been able to get closer to a metro station and further away from the main campus. It doesn't even feel like two schools. They should call Kirov the middle school and Petworth the high school and just lean into it. |
| Yet somehow KIPP managed to get a big building EOTR, why's that? |
| Bard just built and opened a new building. How about their old bldg? |
|
This is all moot. The Kirov campus has been purchased.
What exactly is the issue, though? There are plenty of charter schools in EOTP. Why does Latin have to open their second campus there? |
There is no issue. I'm a Latin parent. A very happy one. I don't care. At all. |
