Thank you from nanny

Our nanny has not thanked us for her holiday gift. She was given some physical gifts as well as a check. Should we be offended?

She did, she didn’t open it with us, so she would not have known what was in the wrapped gifts or card at the time. It’s just unusual to me since I’ve never given someone a gift and not had them mention to me what it was when thanking me. She was given a substantial check so I don’t even know if she opened the card. Guess I’ll find out if she deposits it. Just not what I am used to.

She already thanked you. She doesn’t need to do more. Would you like a card or I thank you flowers?

This is why I hate gifts from anyone work related. She didn't ask for one, thanked you on receipt, and it's still not enough. Lord

It might be cultural too. Sending a thank you note after you already said thank you in person is not something people necessarily do elsewhere.

I would drop a hint. We had s part time sitter for the school year/summer who was also a lifeguard at our pool. I got her a Target gift card as a thank you when she was done with us and nothing…. Couple weeks later I saw her at the pool and said I wanted to just check that she got it. It was in a card that my kid gave her so I used that as my excuse for checking, she said “ oh I’m so sorry I meant to say thank you and forgot”…. So yeah, I would say something, kind of like the earring comment above.,

I do not, nor am I expecting one. However I do specifically thank the person who gave me a gift for the particular gift(s) they give me. This was how I was raised.
