Oat bran vs rolled oats for baking muffins

Seeking advice from anyone who has already experimented with recipes - looking for a healthy treat for my family to rein in calories and sugar. Thoughts on taste, texture, nutrition?

DP. If anyone has some good (easy!) recipes for muffins please share.

Easy protein muffins:
Coat pan coconut oil
1/4 c rolled oats
Few banana slices
8-10 blueberries (frozen)
Cinnamon
Chia seeds
Mix lightly then pour in egg white till it soaks in and covers.
Bake 350 for 20 minutes. Very filling.
Swap out fruits. My next batch will be apple.

Any ideas for alternatives to chia seeds? Would sunflower seeds be ok? Would they have to be raw seeds or would the toasted and salted seeds be okay?

Not OP, but chia seeds offer some binding, liquid absorption, and expansion that regular seeds don’t. I wouldn’t substitute them

Sorry, One single muffin! I scoop 1/4 cup oats into each muffin tin. I don’t use chia seeds, not a problem.

Sorry, One single muffin! I scoop 1/4 cup oats into each muffin tin. I don’t use chia seeds, not a problem.


Do they taste good? I'm wondering if mashings the banana might help
