Pothole turned into 4k of damage is it worth filing insurance?

Anonymous
What we thought as a single tire replacement ballooned into needing to replace all tires and 2 rims totalling 4k

The reason is that the tires are discontinued and the rims were bent

Would you file a claim with a 500 deductible?

That price seems very high. What’s the price per tire?

how many tires were damaged and how many rims were damaged? 1 and 2?

You don’t have to have the exact same brand of tire on front and back. Is the tire shop saying that? If so I would run away…

No

Maybe suspension damage also?

$4k worth of damage from a pothole? Not a lawyer, but can you make a claim against the jurisdiction where the pothole was?

Insurance will not going to cover you for undamaged tires/rims so you can match

You know every law on every book? No. You can in Richmond, VA, if pothole had been previously reported to city

Hello, all 4 tires need to be replaced, and 2 of the rims are bent. This is a higher-end car, so the costs do add up for the materials.

not just a pot hole but the entire road was ripped up so all 4 tires hit the road and the edge where it meets the normal road

That is some insane price for tires but it is 3.3k not 4k combined. What is your deductible? 2,500? Not worth it. 500? Sure

That sounds about right for a higher-end car.
