| My go-to is mapo tofu or kung pao shrimp. I want something a bit more unusual and fun. Ideas? I love spice. |
| Spicy eggplant |

Chicken or shrimp lo mein
Chicken and cashews Mango shrimp Fried rice Won ton soup |
| chicken and cashews is so dull and not spicy! |
| Dried shredded beef is my fave -- a little bit spicy, not too much. |
These are seriously underwhelming choices. OP, where do you live? I'd find a nice Sichuan or SW Chinese restaurant and check out the chef's specials. My favorites are Hong Kong Palace near 7 corners and Yunnan by Potomac Noodle House in Alexandria. |
| Shrimp with spiced salt. |
Yes! And Szechuan string beans |
| Yes to spicy eggplant and Szechuan string beans! I also love Singapore rice noodles, combination, extra spicy and hot and sour soup. |

Which restaurant? I suggest you do some research on reviews and see what if they have particular dishes for which they are known
If you are going to one of Peter Chang's (note: NOT PF Chang) places, get the dry fried eggplant. At Hong Kong Palace in Falls Church, get the cumin lamb or beef, or the cumin fish (but also get the mapo tofu because it's amazing there). At Joe's Noodle house in Rockville, get the fried pork dumplings (best in the area, if you ask me) and the braised fish with tofu (i think it is H20). |
| The only acceptable order is Peking duck. |
+ 1 to all of these. We also get vegetable Egg Foo Yong. And of course Kung Pao Chicken and Sweet and Sour shrimp. |
| Recommend Lao Sze Chuan in Rockville. Had a great meal there last week and nice open restaurant -- not crowded and jammed together. |
