Looking at the five sad cards on the mantle got depressing after mailing out so many cards. So I took them down.
I know a lot of people are no longer sending, but people you thought you were close with, friends from college, relatives you know your whole life, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles even two of my sisters did not send, all at once hurts. Rather not be reminded, which is why I took them down. I guess next year I join the no cards club. Maybe there will be a Xmas Miracle and will get cards this week. Even when I was 24 and single I sent cards to my mom, two sisters and brother and of course anyone who sent me a card after I got it. I thought that was bare minimum. Guess I was wrong, when actual sisters and brothers get cards and don’t send back. All I can say is wow. |
Holy overreaction! |
I’m Jewish, but I send out a card every year around the Jewish new year. Most of my friends and family mostly do not. They like our card though! I don’t think twice about it because I enjoy sending it. I like seeing even the few we get throughout the year. Are you upset about the lack of cards, or is it an underlying issue of feeling lonely? |
I get the majority of cards the week before Christmas. I put mine in the mailbox on Saturday! I didn't plan it that way but I just got busy and that's the way it worked out. |
People keep up with their friends and family all year through texting, emails, etc. now. |
Cards have dropped off. Just move on. Its such a waste of resources. |
Hardly anybody sends a card these days. It’s not personal. |
Five is pretty good! |
also just sent mine saturday - I think you'll get more this week. |
Lol ours have not even arrived from Shutterfly yet.
What a drama llama you are. |
It is ok to feel sad about these things!! |

I hear ya, op. We sent nearly 100, and we’ve only received 10 so far. Last year we ended up with 50+, down from a high of 75. |
Lol!!!! Mine are coming this week! |
You’re lucky to have no real problems. Let’s trade lives. |
