Perimenopause major decrease in libido

Anonymous
Anyone else? I never want sex anymore and when I do, it is uncomfortable b/c everything just feels different now. I am so sad about this.

I'm with you there OP. It's really sad. I had a hyster but kept one ovary at 50 after decades of dealing with BRUTAL period pain.

I was ok till I was about 57. I remember telling my doc (female) that brad pitt could walk by naked and I wouldn't even bother to look.

At 58 I started HRT. I am now 62 and just have no interest and physically can't do it.

My doc put me on estradiol - an estrogen creme that you use vaginally. It's really helped! Make an appointment and ask about it; there's no need to suffer endlessly on this front.

I’m been post menopausal a few years. Apparently the clitoris atrophies. I read a recommendation to use a strong vibrator once a week.

Have you tried testosterone? It’s a game changer for me.

I heard that the estrogen cream helps with lubrication and testosterone helps with libido.

Talk to your GYN who can help you with this. If you arent comfortable talking to them change doctors! I recommend seeing Dr Tobie Beckerman. She is caring knowledgable and helpful in finding what works for you.

NP. I almost always am dry as a bone down there with zero libido but every once in a while it comes back, which surprises me - almost like it did when I ovulated. But I’m definitely in menopause.

Taking hormones and smoking weed helped a lot

How does weed help?

Somehow weed relaxes my system and allows for greater self lubrication and sensitivity. More so from smoking than edibles. But some get the same effect from edibles. Try different techniques and various THC levels. Strain type can also be helpful. (Indica v. Sativa)

dp.. I'm gonna try this. Thanks.

Do those THC stores sell otc edibles? Do I need a rx?

I can still O but it takes a lot to get me there, and it's not as powerful.

It is “gifted” to you from many services in DC. Start googling. Delivered to you/and some places will allow you to go to their store for pick up.
All over, at least one store front in Adams Morgan.
