| Title says all. Looking for what most teachers prefer. |
| It varies, but mine prefer .org. |
|
.org
(- an MCPS teacher) |
| OP--thank you!! |
| Any reason not to use one and cc: the other? |
| .org!!! I NEVER check the .net one. (Elementary) However,, most of my parents use Dojo which is actually even better. |
| Use ParentVue and it forwards to whichever the teacher chose. Or look at the Canvas course and see what they specified. |
| Elementary teacher here. Our school has all of use our .org email addresses for communicating with families. This is our Outlook email. We only got .net email addresses when MCPS adopted Google apps for education. We needed it for Google Drive, Slides, Docs, etc. |
I prefer .net as do about half of my colleagues at my school. If you just want to tell me info and I don’t need to provide any info back, .org will do. I check it once a day. If want me to answer a question, especially one that might requirement me to refer to an assignment’s directions, share a resource, or check grades, .net works best for me. And I check it every hour of the duty day. |
| I have my .net account on auto-forward to my .org account so I'd get it either way. But I would say everyone uses their .org to some degree and less people use the .net regularly. |
Thank you! Everyone should be doing this. This should be the expectation if people aren't going to check both accounts. |
|
I check both every day but I probably prefer emailing parents from .org.
Either is fine though. Emailing from parent view is fine too but direct email is better because it is more direct and less steps to answer |
Keep in mind that parents are also emailing via Synergy and some schools are mandating Talking Points. It’s a lot of places to have to check in a job that has little down time to check email. |
This!!!! |
I check .net maybe once per quarter. |
