| Asha means hope in Hindi. Ashi is to asha what Katy is to Kate. A cute derivative that is. Not a very common name in India anymore - just a little old fashioned. |

DH is Indian and he says Asha means Hope, Desire and Aashi means the one who desires, the one who hopes. (it's our aunt's name )
I think it's cute. Our kids have Indian first names and Christian middle names. I like Priya a lot and Pryianka but it didn't make the final cut for our next child
