So many to pick from based on their recent track records:
DC Housing Authority? https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2022/10/07/hud-report-dcha-failures/?itid=lk_inline_manual_2 DCPS? https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2022/09/02/dc-schools-parcc-test/ Department of General Services? https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2022/11/28/dc-school-building-maintenance-audit/ WMATA? (I know they are not really a DC agency.) https://www.washingtonpost.com/transportation/2022/09/22/metro-7000-series-silver-line/ MPD? https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2022/11/01/cases-dismissed-seventh-district-investigation/ Department of Health? https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2022/05/09/dc-covid-case-counts-stopped/ |
| DPR? |
| All of them |
| Given that the council is supposed to provide oversight then the answer is obvious. |
|
I've dealt with DCPS and WMATA and they are both terrible.
I will say, OTOH, that I think DDOT is overall good. Yes they do have issues. I just think some people I know that work there are really good. |
| DOES, home of unabated unemployment fraud and using a computer system circa 1996. At least there will be new oversight now that elissa is gone. She was asleep at the wheel. |
|
Do you know why there are no longer car safety inspections? The one person who knew how to do them / train others retired. So now they only do inspections for emissions.
I think this might be up there. |
| DC Water because it's quasi Federal. Home rule! |
| It’s incredible to me that Bowser is never held directly accountable for this dysfunction in any way, shape or form. |
Most states have stopped safety inspections. They found it didn't really impact safety. |
| DGS. Also, while I think DCPS is dysfunctional in his own right, one of the main things it gets criticized for is facilities condition and maintenance, which is actually DGS. DCPS actually does do some things well. DGS does nothing well. |
Having seen two friends go through trying to collect UI over the past two months, the people at DOES seem to be fine, but their IT system is set up in a way to only allow something like 1 out of every 50 filings for processing. |
|
Office of Unified Communications (DC’s 911 operator)
Literally dozens have died to their incompetence. |
| DCRA. Completely corrupt. |
| They are all terrible, but today DCHA. Folks keep re-electing the mayor. I have no idea why. |
