So on Wednesday night a Federal officer shoots someone dead at Metro Center at rush hour after some kind of unspecified altercation. Then this morning, a little more than 12 hours later, a woman, a child and a teenager are shot at the Benning Road metro after a fight, and it looks like the teenager may die.
I’ve never encountered events like this and like probably most DCUM readers I don’t go near the Benning Road metro stop. But I’ve been seeing an increasing density of disturbed/drunk/drugged people on the metro. They may also stand out more because there are fewer commuters thanks to WFH Discuss |
| Not to that level, but the number of fair evasions and the lack of any response is also concerning |
| I think the data speaks for itself. While Metro is not generally unsafe, it is obviously getting less safe which should concern everyone. |
Please cite data. |
It’s on WMATAs website. |
| So a FBI agent shoots someone (again) and PP can’t back up the feels which lead to the bare assertion that it’s “obviously getting less safe”? |
Seems like you’re far more likely to get shot by an FBI agent on metro than by anyone else. Criminals included. |
True |
Sure, if you plan on attacking an FBI agent on Metro, then that's definitely true. |

Elections have ended. At least another year and a half before crime becomes an issue again. 🦗
Sorry. |
I have no complaints about criminals getting shot. |
You’re trying too hard, kitten.
I just look at numbers. And FBI agents have accounted for 50% of shootings on metro this year. Given how few FBI agents there are, that’s a pretty disproportionate figure. |
| What happened on January 6 is far more dangerous than isolated incidents on the metro. |
