What drink can I order that won’t taste terrible?

Anonymous
My family is getting together this weekend for a memorial at a VFW-type hall. I’d like to have a couple cocktails but I’m told they only serve well drinks, generic sodas, cheap wine, and beer. What can I order that won’t leave me with a terrible hangover or taste terrible, but can be made with well alcohol?

Is this seriously a question?

My go-to in that type of situation is a Greyhound (vodka + grapefruit juice).

If you're that picky and think it all tastes "terrible," why not just order water?

+1 is not drinking an option? If not, then drink Something at home before leaving.

That’s my go-to cocktail. Also looks very pretty with a slice of lime

Gin & tonic or vodka tonic

Gin and tonic or rum and coke would be my go to.

If they don't have liqour then cheap white wine is usually better than cheap red wine. I will add some sparking water or fruit juice to my white wine

I would drink beer in that situation or treat myself to a real coke

Club soda with a splash of cranberry, a splash of pineapple juice, and a squeeze of lime -Forgo the alcohol

Real Coke is a treat? We live in very different worlds.

Seltzer with a lime. Why in the world would you ingest chemicals and crap and sugar if you can avoid it.
