We are Christian and would much prefer to send a card that says merry Christmas, but live in New York where a lot of the recipients are Jewish or a different religion. Should we stick to happy holidays to be PC? Is it appropriate to send a merry Christmas card to someone who obviously does not celebrate Christmas? |
If you want to say merry Christmas just send it to your Christian friends. I find it odd to be wished merry Xmas when I dont celebrate. I dont mind wishing others merry Xmas but I dont want to be wished merry Xmas.

You do whatever you want. We personally say Happy Holidays because we are Agnostic leaning Atheists but enjoy all sentiments we receive. |
Say what you want. Im Jewish and send Seasons Greetings or Happy New year cards. I am never offended if someone sends me a Merry Christmas card. |
If you want to wish people a Merry Christmas, just leave the different religions off of the recipient list. |
I'd say "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year". People can ignore the Christmas part.
You celebrate Christmas, so there's that. I've gotten a "Happy Diwali" card from Indian friends and I have never once thought "but I don't celebrate Diwali". Normally I think "oh how nice". |
Our card said merry Christmas. I didn’t think too much of who would be receiving it, our friends. They know there’s no intention or ill will. We’re not trying to convert them lol. |
I have Merry Christmas and send a different card to our non-Christian friends |
I am Jewish and prefer a Happy Holidays card because I feel like there should be room for NOT celebrating Christmas...but I do not think ill of all the people who send me a Merry Christmas card. |
We're Christian but our cards say Happy Holidays because that feels more inclusive for everyone on my list. |
+1 |
Our cards say happy holidays. I literally only say merry Christmas on Christmas Eve and day. |
Christmas is one holiday during the winter months. It's celebrated one day. On that day I wish everyone a Merry Christmas. My cards say Happy Holidays because that covers Christmas, New Years, Hanukkah, Diwali, etc. |
We say happy holidays because there are so many celebrated at this time of year. |
I'm an atheist and my cards say Merry Christmas. I send them to all friends and family, even those who are Muslim and Jewish. I know they all celebrate Christmas to a certain degree because they are my friends and family members and I know them. I don't send Christmas cards to people who I don't know well. |
