OP you answered your own question. You would only send a Happy Holiday card to be “PC” so you just don’t want to respect other religions. You are putting you ahead of anyone else who isn’t like you. Sounds like this is your Crusade. |
Happy Merry Christmas!! |
This is the kind of extra that I briefly thought about, but ultimately decided that I just didn't have it in me to carry out. Every year I try to find card designs that says season's greetings, joy, peace, or some such that's not so overt. Wish there're more such options than just a happy holidays. |
Ours say both, Happy Holidays on the front and Merry Christmas on the back. |
Ours say happy holidays, because there are multiple holidays (and because I don't always get them out before Christmas), and our friends celebrate different holidays. |
That’s usually what we do, although this year Merry Christmas in on the front. I prefer happy holidays since I am half Jewish and we send cards to some of my Jewish relatives. DH prefers merry Christmas so it’s always a negotiation. I hand wrote happy Hanukkah under merry Christmas to Jewish friends and family. Many of them are mixed like me so don’t take offense. I don’t send cards to the very observant Jews in my family. |
Season's Greetings!!
In many languages. I send the UNESCO cards. |

Our says Merry Christmas but everyone on our list celebrates Christmas. Our afterschool nanny is Muslim, so I just give her a generic Happy New Year card. If I had more Jewish friends I'd likely pick a different card when I'm having them printed. I noticed on Minted that I could make my banner say anything I wanted it to.
I love the Happy Hanukah cards I used to get. I like the pp's Happy Diwali card too and wish it were a thing. |
I have used both on and off. I think worrying about this is silly. Anyone who is going to be pressed about it can tell me they don't want to receive a card. I am certainly NOT going to be texting 100 people asking them what their religion is so I can get some Martha Stewart badge of Holiday Card competence. It is a gesture of goodwill at the holidays, take it or leave it! |
There are! Just go in and edit the wording. I mean you put your family's last name on them too, so you're already editing. "Peace on Earth" seems a wonderful sentiment to wish for considering the year it's been. |
USE YOUR BRAIN No Jew here I do not want a "Christmas card" I would not want an idiot for a friend. When I am in a store and someone says Merry Christmas that I am fine with because they do not know me and they are trying to be nice but in actuality they are just stupid. You already know you have friends that are not of your religion. So yeah you are an idiot and a horrible friend. |
We say Happy Holidays. As a mixed faith household, we are not going to ignore one set of holidays in favor of another. And since this is an anonymous forum, I will admit that we make sarcastic remarks about people who send us “Merry Christmas” cards. |
If you order from one of the big online holiday card sites, there are so many different options available. We picked a card that said "Hope, Peace + Love" and have been using something similar for the past few years. |
I alternate depending on the card I choose. Two of my friends converted to Judaism upon marriage, but they tend to still celebrate Christmas too.
This year the card I selected only had space to say "Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays". I went with 'Happy Holidays' this year because I usually throw in 'Happy New Year or best wishes in the new year'...something along those lines and if I said just 'Merry Christmas' that would be left out. |
