Volunteer Covid Vaccine Requirement

Anonymous
How do I can submit my Covid vaccine attestation to MCPS? I’m volunteering for (my first!) field trip with my first grader. I was able to complete the Child Abuse and Neglect Training without any issue.

Teacher sent a link, but all I can see is the Update, but nowhere to upload the card.

Trying not to bug the teacher, in case anyone has BTDT and can give me advice.

Go back to where you did the Child Abuse training, and find the box that has all of the links to the training in different language. Look just above the box, and click on the tab on the right. That should take you to the Covid Attestation.

OP here - Thank you!! Found it. That was a bit hidden.

They are still requiring it?

I know kids are not required to be vaccinated, are teachers?

Wow. Vaccines do not prevent the transmission of Covid. What is the point in continuing to require it?

It is a ridiculous requirement that needs to be eliminated. And the process to upload the Covid vaccine card (basically private medical information) is a pain, and yet another obstacle to get parents to volunteer at our lower-income FOCUS school.

Teachers were required to be vaccinated a year ago! Not sure if teachers have a booster requirement. No booster requirement for volunteers.

I would not volunteer if they had such a requirement.

To show the parent is not an idiot.

Actually, MCPS looks pretty idiotic in this case. Why have a useless Covid vaccine requirement for parents to volunteer?

I mean, my last Covid shot was June 2021. No chance I’m h$ll I am getting a booster. So, I’m vaccinated, but what difference does it make - it was over a year ago.

Clearly, MCPS doesn’t believe in Science. But I guess we knew that since our kids barely even get taught any Science in ES and MS.

You’re not the only one who feels this way. It’s hard enough to get parents to volunteer at our school. Why is MCPS making it unnecessarily even more burdensome to do so?

Oh enough of the Covid denying anti vaxxers. We get, you don’t believe in Covid and you don’t believe in long Covid, or the flu or anything. Just stay home please.

Oh, are you a troll or do you work for Pfizer? Hard to tell from your nonsense post.

Thanks. I should’ve phrased my question better. I know teachers were required to be vaccinated. I was wondering if that changed and if it has then why are they still requiring vaccines for volunteers? And before DCUM speculates, I am fully vaccinated, and my boosters are all up-to-date. (It just never made sense to me that volunteers had to be vaccinated.)
