Help me like at home video workouts

Anonymous
I HATE video workouts. I get really caught up on “this isn’t correct” and I know (think?) that doing it wrong means it’s not worth doing at all.

My only free time to workout is from 5:30am-6:15.

I either bundle up and go for a walk (maybe?) or push play on a video.

Do not suggest a bike or machine; I want one badly but we’re on a budget.

I have 100# to lose AND exercise staves off depression for me, so I need to move.

What to do…

I really enjoy all the videos I’ve done from Popsugar on YouTube. They have something for everyone. The cardio/Pilates ones are my personal favorite but they have beginner and low implant type ones if that is what you’re looking for as well. Keep up the good work! Working out in the morning really sets me up for a productive day

I love Barre3 online. It’s the first time I’ve enjoyed at-home workout. Videos are anywhere from 10 to 60 minutes. And there are several instructors, some of whom I love and a couple that I avoid because they’re too perky. I’ve noticed definite change in my body shape and feel terrific overall from regular B3 workouts.

I have a Peloton subscription and love the variety of the classes and the fact that they offer classes in so many different time increments. Sometimes, when I don’t want to work out, I tell myself to at least get through a 10 minute class and that is so much less intimidating. You can get through 10 minutes of any thing. Then, ideally, you work up to doing longer classes or doing more 10 minute classes.
In terms of doing it wrong, do the same class several times. Just watch one if you need to. Getting hung up on your form is just an excuse.

Try dancing. Youtube has tutorials tor every type of dancing you can imagine (and some you haven’t) - hip hop, tap, hula, ballroom, Irish step dancing, belly dancing, country line dancing, Chinese shuffle dancing, disco, etc. There’s also yoga, martial arts, etc.

The thing I love about exercising at hone is it doesn’t make a bit of difference whether I’m doing something right or not. Nobody’s there to laugh, judge, or care a whit about my form. I don’t do anything that hurts, but otherwise, I figure as long as I’m moving, it’s good exercise. I’m 51 and overweight. I know I must look ridiculous bouncing around my living room, but I’m having fun, so I don’t care.

Here’s a video I enjoy doing, but if it’s not your thing, then keep trying different things until you find one that makes you happy.

I have to love the music. If I don't love the music, I mute it and add my own or watch a favorite show.
