Seems like a major trend in Christmas trees here of late. Would you buy one? And if you have, do you like it?
|
| I don’t buy trees, but the ones we chop down aren’t usually very full. I like the middle one above. Very cute and cozy. The top one looks stupid and the bottom looks like it’s not decorated. |
| At first I was going to respond no - but the photos displayed show some lovely trees. |
| Everybody has multiple trees these days and some people like simplicity. |
| The “rustic” tree I bought from Hay Needle is sparse. At first I hated it but we’ve had it 5 or 6 years and now I love how lights and ornaments look on it. |
“Everybody has multiple trees these days…” lol |

They're charlie brown-esque. Nostalgic for some people, I think.

We currently have a live tree that looked smallish-to-medium on the lot but is actually huge and full. Even with 6 strings of lights, over 100 ornaments, garland, etc., it still just looks like a giant pine tree. I can hardly see any of the ornaments (and let’s be real, my kid put most of them on the bottom 1/3).
I can see the appeal of the first tree. Maybe one day when my kid is grown. A friend has a similar one she puts in her large kitchen, and she fills it with food ornaments—donuts & candy & gingerbread... it’s really cute. |

#1 - chic
#2 - cheap #3 - looks like it was just taken out of the box and the owner hasn't had time to fluff it yet |
| Funny. I think #1 looks cheap. |
Now there’s an oxymoron. |
Really? I think the first one is hideous. The ornaments are boring and totally disproportionate to the tree. The second one looks normal to me (aka a tree of people who just want to enjoy Christmas so I’m not surprised DCUM thinks it’s cheap). Agree with you on the third one although I will say I hate the weird wagon stand. |
| Are those artificial trees? If so, no, that’s stupid to pay for a sad looking tree. If it’s real, I get it. They’ve gotten so expensive, we often end up paying an arm and a leg for a sparse, lopsided tree. |
| Those are old money trees, lol. |
| Also isn’t there still a MASSIVE Christmas tree shortage? So I would expect it to be harder to find/afford bigger and fuller (real) trees so maybe that’s influencing trends. |
