Who else isn't having turkey or a traditional Thanksgiving spread tomorrow?

Roll Call! Who else is bucking the trend and striking out on their own?

It's just going to be me, DH and our kids tomorrow and none of us really love turkey. DH and I enjoy the sides, but the kids pick and choose (and rarely agree) so we decided to scrap tradition and prepare a fun and decadent meal that will make us happy.

We're doing our take on a seafood boil with lobster tails/claws, crab legs, shrimp, sausage, corn and red potatoes. Cornbread on the side and pies for dessert. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! We'll eat on plates, but I got butch paper to put down as a table cloth and will let the kids decorate it while I cook.

What are you doing out of the norm for tomorrow? Curious to hear about other families who are doing something different!

Nope, doing our kids favorite foods. Nothing traditional.

Magret de canard.

Hey, it's fowl. Close enough.

Sounds awesome. Make B Loves sauce for dipping!

Nuclear family. We have a big charcuterie board for all-day grazing, a lovely meal of steak frites and Brussels sprouts, and brownies & lemon bars for dessert. Bloody Marys, wine, and Bailey’s & coffee.

I’ll probably make something chicken-and-stuffing-ish with a couple of traditional sides between now & Christmas.

Spaghetti

For Thanksgiving Day we're going to a restaurant with my mom. My guess is most of us will decide something looks more delicious than turkey.

Then a few days later, my kids will have a second Thanksgiving with their Dad's family. It will feature fried chicken because no one likes turkey or ham enough to eat it twice, but it will have some traditional sides that people do like.

A beautiful ham.

Vegetarian meal to accommodate the two vegetarians without requiring me to also cook a turkey that no one is excited about.

The only thing I’ll miss is that we are not doing mashed potatoes this year because the main is a butternut squash and vegetarian chorizo lasagne.

My mom is visiting and she will make her famous goat biryani for us.

We usually a have chicken or some sort of beef, but tomorrow we are going vegetarian because most of us are now vegetarian.

No one in my family cares for turkey or any of the traditional sides, except mashed potatoes.

We are making thai food. Chicken satay, tom yum, pad thai, beef panang curry and sweet and sour shrimp. My lovely SIL, her DH, two cousins will join DH, me, our two kids. Dress code is sweats.

Prime, twice baked potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, brown gravy, green beans, roast beet green salad. Stuffing and sweet potato casserole to appease my DD.

Thanks for the idea! I was planning on just serving drawn butter but this would be even yummier and I have everything on-hand!
